The Hupačasath First Nation supports its community members to live their healthiest lives by supporting members to access available programs/funds, advocates for the needs of Hupačasath in program changes, and plans community wellness programs. Vanessa sits on many health related board and committees which gives her great knowledge and insight to help answer your health related questions.
Main Programs:

Patient Travel
- Band members are eligible for financial assistance for out of town medical appointments as outlined in the NIHB Policies & Procedures
- Email or deliver confirmation of your appointment to the Health Coordinator. This must include: Date, Location, Doctor Name, and Time
- 2 weeks notice is required to ensure a cheque is ready before the appointment. Short notice cheques are not guaranteed.

Community Health Nurse
- The NTC Community Health Nurse comes to Hupacasath as a resource for community members. They can do vaccinations, wellness checks and answer some medical questions.

Mental Health
- Hupačasath Members on reserve have the opportunity to meet with a Psychologist in the community.
- This service is available to anyone who would like to talk or has concerns about their mental wellness.
- The Kuu-us Crisis Line is also available for those who would rather talk by phone. www.kuu-uscrisisline.com

Workshops & Programs
- Each year different programs are run based on community interest and finding availability.
- Past programs have included:
- Around the Kitchen Table where participants learned to make a healthy meal and then sat down to discuss a health topic
- Women’s & Men’s Groups
- Community Dinner Gatherings
